Peru, Day 2

On Day 2 of our trip to Peru, Deepa and I went on a city tour of Cusco (Vidhya and Pooja were wiped out from all of our travels). We skipped out halfway through the tour, though, because our tour guide was unbearably boring and unintelligible. Before we left, we did get to see ancient Incan ruins which had been converted to a church by the Spaniards as well as a beautifual cathedral. Cusco is an absolutely beautiful city, despite the very real daily risk of being run over--there are no crosswalks anywhere, there is a ton of traffic, and drivers act like they don´t even see pedestrians.

In the evening, we headed to a bar with a fantastic view of the Plaza de Armas in the middle of the city:


At the bar, we engaged in a riveting, if somewhat stressful, game of Jenga:


Afterwards, we had some of the best Italian food I have ever had at this fancy restaurant called Incanta. To end the night, we went to this gorgeous hotel called Hotel Monasterio, originally a monastery, for hot chocolate.
