Galapagos, Day 4

On our way to the island, we spotted a whale in the ocean, which was incredibly exciting. When we got to the island, we walked to the highest point of the island which gave us spectacular views of the island itself and of surrounding islands. I honestly think this was one of the most beautiful places I have ever visited.
After the hike, we went to the beach to relax and snorkel. Only in the Galapagos are you prevented from using a tree as shade on the beach because a sea lion is already using it. If you look closely in this picture, you will see the sea lion with whom we had to share our shade:

We also went snorkelling that day, and we saw schools of fish including parrot fish and really cute Galapagos penguins:

This is a picture I took while at the high point of the island. We snorkelled around the pointy rock:

Finally, we returned to Santa Cruz to find a blue-footed booby, a bird native to the Galapagos, welcoming us at the port:
