Goodbye, Quito!

On Friday, September 29th, I met up with Deepa, a friend of mine from law school, her cousin Vidhya, and their friend Pooja, to start the next leg of my trip. Although the thought of travelling around Ecuador with familiar faces was exciting, I was also sad to leave Quito. The school and Pepita were so wonderful to me. For our last night in Quito, Deepa, Vidhya, Pooja, and I went to "la plaza," a huge square with restaurants and bars in the middle of the city, and a popular hang-out spot for gringos. There we had dinner and drinks, and there was an impromptu fireworks show, a fitting end to our stay in Quito.
